City Clerk
Overview
The City Clerk serves as the keeper of the records and provides administrative support to elected officials, appointees, and the City Manager. The City Clerk’s office also handles various applications, Open Records Requests, and accepts reports as detailed in the City’s Code of Ordinances.
Alcoholic Beverage Sales

How to Apply
To obtain a Business/Occupational Tax Certificate in the City of Dahlonega:

Fill out all pages of the application thoroughly. - Submit the Application
Return the completed form with the required fee and all necessary attachments to the City of Dahlonega.
Open Records Request
Thank you for your interest in City Government. Provided is an Open Records Request Form to submit a request to the City Clerk; you may also email the City Clerk directly for a request.
Policies
The requestor shall be notified within three business days upon receipt of the request whether or not the record(s) requested are subject to access under the Open Records Act. An agency shall not be required to produce records if such records did not exist at the time of the request. In no event shall this time exceed three business days; however, where responsive records exist but are not available within three business days of the request, a written description of such records together with a timetable for their inspection or copying shall be provided within that period.
Fees
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 50-18-71(c)(1), “…the charge for the search, retrieval, or redaction of records shall not exceed the prorated hourly salary of the lowest paid full-time employee who, in the reasonable discretion of the custodian of the records, has the necessary skill and training to perform the request; provided, however, that no charge shall be made for the first quarter hour.” The charge for copies is generally 10¢ per letter or legal-size page, unless otherwise provided by law. Please inform the City Clerk when submitting your request if there is a monetary amount that you do not want to exceed.
