Meter Shutoff and Homeowner Access

City water meters shall not be accessible by homeowners and their agents. As critical city infrastructure, meters are only to be manipulated by city staff.  In the event an account holder needs a meter shut off, that procedure may be scheduled by contacting City Hall, 706-864-6133.  It is recommended that homeowners place shut off valves or other mechanisms for the purpose of shutting off service on the downstream side of the city’s meter box.
