Notice of Public Hearing City of Dahlonega City Council Monday, February 15, 2021.


Please take notice that the City of Dahlonega Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, FEBRUARY 8, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. REGARDING CERTAIN MATTERS ITEMIZED IN THIS NOTICE. The RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION REGARDING THESE MATTERS will then be forwarded to the City of Dahlonega CITY COUNCIL. THE CITY COUNCIL will THEN hold A Public Hearing on Monday, FEBRUARY 15, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.

Please take notice that each public hearing will be held in the Lumpkin County Parks & Recreation Building located at 365 Riley Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.

The purpose of the hearing is to consider an application of Signet N GA, LLC, to rezone +/- 10.003 acres of  property located at 258 Hawkins Street (part of tax parcel D07-032) from R-1 (Single Family Residential District) to PUD (Planned Unit Development District) for the purpose of constructing 92 apartment units with 298 beds.

The matter has been remanded by the City Council of Dahlonega for the purpose of considering R-2 zoning for the subject property. An application by the local government consistent with this remand and pursuant to Sec. 2603 of Ordinance 91-9 shall be considered simultaneously with the Signet application above referenced.

Following public hearing, the matter will be placed on the agenda of the City Council’s next regular meeting on Monday, March 1, 2020 for decision.

The Code of Ordinances of the City of Dahlonega contains as an appendix the City’s zoning ordinance, i.e. Ordinance 91-9 which addresses the R-1 (Single Family Residential District), the R-2 (Multiple-Family Residential District) and the PUD (Planned Unit Development District).
