Curbside Recycling Program Information

City of Dahlonega

On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, the City of Dahlonega received notification from Red Oak Sanitation that they would no longer provide recycling services to the City of Dahlonega due to rising operational costs. Effective November 27, 2021, curbside recycling in the City of Dahlonega will be suspended. “We are certainly disappointed that this service won’t be provided to our customers and hope that we will be able to restart it in the future.,” said Bill Schmid, City Manager. Residents who desire to continue recycling will need to transport their recyclables to a location of their choosing. “We’re exploring all options to continue this much needed service. The Dahlonega City Council, and I, have directed staff to explore options and bring a recommendation back to council for consideration.,” said Sam Norton, Mayor.
